There is a commuter parking lot on the east side of M-52 just north of I-94. Downtown, the Park St. lot, on Park east of Main, offers free parking.

The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority operates a free carpool matching service for commuters traveling into or within Washtenaw County, in conjunction with the Michigan Rideshare program of the Michigan Department of Transportation and MichiVan. www.theride.org/rideshare

Western Washtenaw Area Value Express (WAVE). 475–9494. Bus and van transportation for seniors and handicapped persons within a six-mile radius of Chelsea, $1.50 per person per stop. Call for reservations. Operates Mon.–Fri. 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Also operates the Community Connector, a Chelsea–Dexter–Ann Arbor bus that leaves the Park St. parking lot Mon.–Fri. (except holidays) at 6, 8, & 10 a.m., noon, and 3 & 5 p.m. The buses arrive at the AATA route 9 shelter at Jackson and Wagner an hour later. Fare: Chelsea to Dexter $2, Chelsea to Ann Arbor $3, seniors and handicapped persons half price.
