There is a commuter parking lot on the east side of M-52 just north of I-94. Downtown, the Park St. lot, on Park east of Main, offers free parking. Municipal parking lots in downtown have free 3-hour parking and longer spots available for downtown workers and shop owners.
A2-Chelsea Express Leaves the Arctic Coliseum at 6:14 and 7:11 a.m. In the afternoon, the bus leaves Huron & Fletcher in Ann Arbor at 3:44 and 5:12 p.m. to return to Chelsea. Additional stops in Ann Arbor and other details are listed at www.theride.org. The fare is $125 in advance for a month.
AATA RideShare carpool/vanpool service. (877) 971-7665. The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority operates a free carpool matching service for commuters traveling into or within Washtenaw County. www.mirideshare.org
Western Washtenaw Area Value Express (WAVE). 475-9494. Nonprofit agency provides community bus and van transportation. Service available to all. Door-to-door service operates Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Fare: one-way regular $4; senior (age 65 & over)/disabled $2. Same day service sometimes available; advanced reservations recommended. Reservation line is open Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Also operates the Community Connector, a Chelsea-Dexter-Ann Arbor bus that leaves the Park St. parking lot Mon.-Fri. (except holidays) at 6, 8, & 10 a.m., noon, and 3 & 5 p.m. The buses arrive at the AATA route 9 shelter at Jackson and Wagner an hour later. Fare: Chelsea-Dexter $2; Chelsea-Ann Arbor $3; seniors (age 65 & over)/disabled/Fare Deal card holders half price. U-M affiliates pay $1.50 for Chelsea-Ann Arbor; U-M seniors (age 65 & over) free. Personal care attendants and children 4 & under with adult, free. A Transfer Bus is available ($.50-$1) for individuals from their home to the connector stops.
