Host to the Manchester Community Fair and annual Chicken Broil, this park has a pavilion and baseball diamonds. Open dawn to dusk.
Carr Park

20.8 acres of meadows and trees and a small lake, with a baseball diamond, volleyball court, playground equipment, and pavilions with charcoal grills. Open dawn to dusk.
Chi-Bro Park

9.3 acres featuring a pond and nature trails, along with a volleyball court, an ice rink (in winter), playground equipment, skateboarding and in-line skating ramps, and pavilions. Open dawn to dusk.
Kirk Park

On 3.75 acres, with two baseball diamonds, a basketball court, tennis courts, playground equipment, and a pavilion. Open dawn to dusk.
Leonard Preserve
entrance on Union St.
971–6337Part of the county’s Natural Areas Preservation Program, this 237-acre preserve is just west of Manchester and extends into Sharon Township. The undeveloped tract of woods, wetlands, and former cropland includes one mile of River Raisin frontage and is open for passive recreational use only. Unpaved walking trails, gravel parking lot. No restrooms or picnic area.
Nan Weston Preserve at Sharon Hollow
Easudes Rd. at Jacob Rd.
The Nature Conservancy owns these 249 acres of wooded slopes and floodplain forest on the River Raisin. Spring wildflowers and birding. No bikes or motorized vehicles allowed.
Sharon Hills Preserve
on Sharon Hollow Rd. two miles south of Grass Lake Rd.
Washtenaw Land Trust, 302–5263This 67-acre natural area in the Sharon Short Hills contains an oak-hickory forest, kettle wetlands, open fields, and a remnant oak savanna. Its hilly topography makes for exciting cross-country skiing and impressive views. Park in the grassy parking area on the east side of the road. Trails are marked with white painted markers. Sharon Mills County Park

971–6337Six acres of shady lawn along the River Raisin and Mill Pond shores include a pavilion and canoe launches. Home to historic Sharon Mill, an interpretive museum (see Attractions). Park open year round, dawn to dusk. Call 222–9098 to reserve the pavilion or mill and to place catering orders.
Sharonville State Game Area

Waterloo Wildlife Office, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, (517) 522–4097More than 4,000 acres running west into Jackson County, including a stretch of the River Raisin. Game includes deer, squirrels, pheasants, grouse, rabbits, and turkeys. Shooting range on Sharon Valley for sighting firearms before hunting.
Wurster Park

Its 1.5 acres include the Veterans Memorial statue in front of the James A. Lynch house, constructed in 1867. Open dawn to dusk. Call 428–7722 for information on the summer concert series at the gazebo.
