Saline
Saline. The old village core on and around Michigan Ave. and Ann Arbor St. includes late- 19th- and early-20th-century homes from low $200,000's to historic showpieces approaching $1 million. Tract housing developments from the 1950s to 1970s added homes on both sides of Michigan Ave., with ranches going from $150,000 to $200,000 and two-story homes from $180,000 to $240,000. Areas west of the Saline River include Stone Cliff subdivision from the 1980s ($230,000–$400,000), while Torwood and Huntington Woods are newer communities where modernity has been applied to classic style, from homes from high $200,000s to $500,000. Southeast Saline includes the city's most expensive neighborhood, the Arboretum, with homes in the $700,000s. Northview and Wildwood are on opposite sides of Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. on the north side, and homes there, along with Maplewood farms off Maple Rd., are all priced in the $200,000s.
Outlying subdivisions in the Textile Rd. corridor include Brookview Highlands ($300,000 to low $1 million), East Horizons ($275,000–$450,000), Legacy Heights ($375,000–$500,000), Lohr Lake (low $300,000s–$500,000), Travis Pointe ($400,000–$1 million), Travis Pointe South (mid-$200,000s–low $400,000s), and The Waterways ($350,000–$550,000). About a third of upscale Stonebridge in in the Saline school district, with a range of different home communities and prices starting in the mid-$300,000s. Three-Arch Bay off Maple Rd. is hoping to be the county's most expensive gated community, with homes starting at $1 milllion. Along Willis Rd. are many newer developments, including Timber Ridge (mid-$300,000s–$600,000). York Meadows (mid $300,000s to $600,000),York Place (mid $300,000s to $600,000), York Woods (mid $300,000s to $1 million), Yorkshire Hills ($325,000–$500,000). Saline Ridge includes many colonial homes (high $200,000s–mid-$300,000s). This area also includes smaller, scattered groups of homes that vary in price.
On the east side off Michigan Ave. are several new developments, including Harwood Farms ($275,000–$400,000), Warner Creek ($225,000–$300,000) and Hunter's Ridge (low $300,000s–$500,000).
Country living. The rolling woods and farmlands south of Saline offer some of Washtenaw County's more pristine landscapes. Many farmhouses are old and historic; there are many country homes from the late 1800s to the current era with substantial acreage. Prices range from the $190,000 range to $1 million.
Builders have been active west of town. Contemporary homes of various sizes have panoramic views. Farmhouses and older country residences are available as well. Prices range from $250,000 to more than $500,000.
